I will overwhelm 'credible boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be streamed live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Former twice world title holder Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I plan to damage his features and damage his physique. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

In spite of such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - typically recognized for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead attacked ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British rival Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or faded names since turning professional.

He lost to British fighter Fury in last year.

Financial Success

Still, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's largest commercial attractions, consistently making massive financial rewards.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and stated he would derail the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul participated in the traditional stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly going ahead.
