19 of Medvedev's 21 championships have been achieved on hardcourt

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his initial trophy for over two years with a win over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.

The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a difficult season, achieving just a single victory at the big events and undergoing a meltdown at the American major.

The player's varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serving in specific - caused him dropping out of the top ten and ultimately separating with former mentor Cervara.

Currently collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently improved in the past month - climaxing in a hard-fought three-set win over challenger Corentin Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's maiden trophy since the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt after that period of the previous year.

Victory also means Medvedev has secured twenty-one titles at twenty-one various tournaments.

"For the first time I am participating in a event with my both daughters simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is particularly special," stated ranked player the champion.

"This victory is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I achieved when my first daughter her name was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had been defeated in his past six title deciders, featuring in that event in the past months.

Medvedev's counter-punching approach and recurring reactions on court had led some to question if his ability to play at the highest level was concluded.

However the 29-year-old has made changes in the last few weeks, attempting to come to the net and perform assertively, supported by an enhanced serve.

He fought back from a break down in the first set against the challenging opponent, taking four of the final five exchanges to gain the advantage.

The pair traded breaks in the second set before the challenger, attempting for his initial tour championship, seized the initiative to push for a final set.

He saved 4 early-game chances in a tight third set before the Russian won the break to 15 to close out the victory.

Fittingly, the winner earned the win with a point at the net, with the Frenchman unable to handle a volley after over two and a half hours.
