Uche Fuels Comfortable Crystal Palace Win at Shelbourne.

Despite embarking on their first-ever European campaign, Oliver Glasner's side are learning at a rapid pace. Missing star players like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the London club departed Dublin with a commanding result that virtually guarantees them a spot in the Conference League qualifying rounds.

A further three points in their upcoming fixture against Finland's KuPS ought to be sufficient to secure direct passage to the last 16, especially following a prior setback against Strasbourg.

Fringe Players Seize the Moment

This match provided a platform for some of Palace's lesser-used players to shine. Christantus Uche, making only his second beginning since joining on loan from Getafe, notched the scoring with a clinical finish. Striker Eddie Nketiah contributed a second, scoring for the second game in match.

A Shelbourne side that had finished their league season proved outmatched against a mostly second-string Palace outfit. The visitors were already weakened by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with leg injuries.

The contest was as good as over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past a series of comically weak challenges before coolly slotting a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.

Following the break, coach Oliver Glasner took the chance to withdraw several players like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse almost scoring with his first touch, only to see his shot blocked.

Esse was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one shot strike off each posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also missed a glaring chance, showing there is still scope for improvement in his game.

The only worry for Palace was a second-half knock to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This paved the way for 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to make his senior debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect night for the visiting side.
